In my 90 gallon I have:
1- 4" Male FM
1- 7" Male GT
1- 7" Female JD

I have had some problems with the GT chasing the FM and he's stressing out and hiding. So I've been thinking about changing my set-up...I thought maybe I could:

1.take out the JD and the FM and go with a red Texas with the GT
2.Take out the JD, keep the FM and add a female Salvini

The Terror runs the Tank now, after displacing the JD as top dog. Never had a Texas though and was not sure if the two of them would be ok in a 90? Anyone done that before? I want a colorful fish to go with the GT, which is why I chose the Red Texas, and salvini in the set-ups above

What would you do? All suggestions are welcome

never had a red texas but i have heard they can be extremely aggressive , why a female sal why not a male one and get rid of the fm, gts are really not that much of a terror so the texas might kill it if they live up to there agression

It seems like the fm is the hanger. If you like the salvini, why not swap it with the fm? This way, if your gt does wimp out at some point, he will at least have his size going for him.

The idea is to have 3 fish max, or even better IMO, cut it down to 2 larger cichlids (GT and Red Texas for example). I'm keeping the GT for sure. As far as Salvini, I've kept them before and prefer the Female as they have better color.

If you guys think the Red Texas will be too much for a GT what would you recommend that is close to the same size and has really good color?

I had even considered swapping the Female JD and FM for a male JD, but wasn't sure if two males that size would get after eachother.

More ideas anyone?

P.S. NO CONS please :grinno:

im suprised the jd and gt dont scrap but i believe the fm is the dither fish a 90 in essence is not the size tank to have with large fish without aggresion anything u add will only follow suit try your big 2 for a little bit and maybe add an oscar or something mild mannered that would hold its own really isnt much you can do here your fish are large and territorial
