Hey guys, I have a 120g (4*2*2) with 1 male JD 6inch, 1 male Firemouth 4inch, 1 Male Convict 4inch, 1 Severum 6 inch, and 3 Clown Loaches 4inch. I love the tank but I think I want to go in on other direction, they are just to skiddish and not as owner responsive as I would like. I also have a 180g tank with an Oscar, Chocolate, Blue Acara, 3 Datnoids and 5 Silver Dollars and all are Mature. I was thinking on re doing the 120g and selling my Severum and Jd and adding a Midas. I wanted to know if the Clowns, Firemouth, and Convict would be okay with a Midas in the 120g. If not, could I put the Firemouth and Convict in the 180g with out an issue ( all fish are different and there might be a problem I know) but in theory would it work out? My first choice would be to keep them with the Midas though. Any thought would be great! Thanks

At some point your Midas will clear out the tank. He may not kill the clowns, I don`t know. I would try the other fish in the 180 before I got new fish for the 120. That way if it does not work you have a place for them until you find a new home for them. If you have the right arrangement on the 180 it just might work even though the newbies are smaller, so long as not food size!

Thanks for the reply! If you had 1 fish to keep in the 120g as a wet pet I was thinking Midas, but I do like Male Trimacs or possibly a Flowerhorn. Out of those 3 which would have the best personality and get the biggest? Also, I would like to keep the clown loaches in there, if I give them good hiding spots could it work with any of the three fish I would get. I would only get 1 of the 3 just to clarify. Thanks

It might work. Throw a pleco or two in the mix. They are slower than the loaches and have a hard exterior so can take a pounding. Out of the three fish you mention I like the trimac idea, buy that`s me. Good luck.
