I'm thinking of changing my tank from artificial decor to Rock driftwood and plants. Advice much needed and great starter plants to get with lights and so on. Mostly need help with the plants. Help!!

Anubias species of plants are probably the single most difficult plant to kill... i personally love them in my tank... they grow very slowly, but are tough as nails and don't need much light or any extra ferts to thrive...

Other than that, i've heard things like Java fern, some of the mosses' etc are all pretty easy to grow without needing anything too crazy requirement wise...

Really depends on what sort of look you're trying to achieve...

Which fish you have in planted tank? If have usual monster fish, they always move substrate everywhere they want! Then, some will even bury and hide in substrate! So, if use plants need root in substrate, plants always uprooted and you always replanting...hmm, no fun! But, even with fish like these, Anubias mounted on driftwood still OK. Otherwise, if not keeping tank-redecorator-type fish, then can keep plants rooted in substrate, so substrate will need be more like ADA soil which has nutrients, rather than just sand and/or gravel which have no nutrients.
