What do you guys and gals think? Im talking fully set-up with Malawi rift lake cichlids and not adding or losing deco just moving it around to change it up. Does anyone else do this ? do you think its bad (tramatizing)? good ? I for one do it mostly because i am never satisfied.

I don't keep African fish, but I don't see why changing it around would be a problem.

I change my décor quite often…I too am never satisfied and also just like a change. I also do this if I have a fish that is being overly aggressive.

yea i change my decor around atleast 1nce every so often myself.... so yea don't see a prob

I do a diffrent set up like once a month, and I think they love it. I just make sure there's enough hides for everyone. Cause they did get a little aggressive at first, but i didnt have that much hidding spots at that time. Now they get a new place once a month and it kinda switches things up, not the same aquarium everyday. Thats how I found out one of mine had some babies. There was a total of 5 fry in the tank when I switched the rocks around.

thanks for all the fast responses!!! I totally agree with all of you! I have a lg group of kenyi with one m. yellow lab and a albino red. My g/f always tells me to stop messing with the tank cause 'they dont like it'. but as navykorman said there is a little aggresion at first but then they all find there space.

I had actually read that when you introduce a new fish to the tank that you should move the decor so all the fish have to establish new territories. This takes away from all of them ganging up on the new fish.

I haven't added any new fish in my tank for awhile, but I'm always moving something. My fish tend to be a bit aggressive during the evening after the change, but mellow out usually by the next day.

If your tanks is claim and you are not having problems, moving the decor can change all of that, throwing everything back into fight. It can help, it can make it more fun for you, and it can cause your fish to go nuts. I only change things up once in a long while, usually when doing a deep cleaning.
