so i change my media every month during a water change and when i pull the filter out to remove the media aload of crap falls out.....so is the anyway to stop this? the filter is a internal filter called fluval 4 plus and its in my 35 gallon i have only had it set up for 1.5months

Find a container that the filter will fit in, but that is not overly big. Put the container under the water move the filter into it and the remove the container.

What are you using in the fluval? The foam that comes with them does not need to be replaced, but rather just rinsed in dechlorinated water, and placed back in the filter. There is no way that is easy to keep from dropping the junk in the tank. As stated, unless you have a bio filter (not counting the fluval 4+) you should not be throwing away the media.

you can slip a ziplock bag over the whole unit before turning it off and then lift it out of the tank for servacing. Just dont forget and leave it running....

Pain in the butt with Fluval 4+'s because of their height. I just dump the junk in the tank and call it good.

Not my favorite filters either...unless you rince them often the junk is still in your tank...just relocated and semi-contained. We have one of them but it's in the water dragons swimming bowl...

i changed the media as i had ick a couple of weeksa ago also i added carbon pad.....i have just bought 50 filter pads for the fluval 4plus and you say i dont need them....kick in the b**ls, doesnt realy matter they were 50 for about£6$12
