CHANGING FX5 IMPELLER PROBLEMS

Ok i changed a lot of impellers over the years but am i ever having a problem with my fx5. No mater how many times i take it apart and make sure everythngs in place when i start it up it sounds like its going to shake apart and stalls. I think i have it together and test it dry, put it back together add water and rattle rattle..? any ideas?

Does it have any small pebbles or sand stuck in it? My intake is quite low down and my catfish and midas are constantly trying to block it off by spittng gravel in it so as soon as i clean it the impeller is rattleing again.

I cleaned it out pretty good before i put a the new impeller in i just wanted to see if anyone else has had problems changing there's. Yes peaches i ran sand for a while thats why i'm replacing the impeller.......lol

i'm having a similar problem with one of mine. I took it apart to change media and then once basktogether and pluged it it made a really odd noise then stoped. I took it back apart and tok the pump off then pluged it in and it worked. so again I put it all back together and pluged it back in under the tank. and it did the saem thing. so I just e-mailed hagen to ask them what's up b/c it's less then a year old.
