hey guys would it be possible to take the side pieces of glass out of my 220 and replace them with wider ones to have a wider tank so that i can keep rays?
yes but you would also have to replace the bottom panel with a wider peice.. you would also need to order top and bottom braces that fit the new perimeter of your tank... but it can be done
also depends on how thick the panels are... you are going to increase the volume of the tank considerably by making in wider... you need to make sure the glass you have will be thick enough
clearwater guy took a 150, turned it on its face, and had the back piece recut to replace the piece that is now a side that used to be the top. that way he had a 150 wide instead of a 150 tall.... he keeps rays in there
that sounds cool, i just wanted to let you guys know that i am still trying to come up with ideas to make my tank larger and that there will eventually be a build thread here lol
Can we get clarification on whether this is correct? I am in the process of building a tank that is re-using pieces from my 300 gallon aquarium and this is very important info to get right. My understanding is that only height matters, but I am not 100% on this...would like to know for sure.
