I have a ACF (African Clawed Frog) tank for about 4 years or so setup in a 20 long. The bigger female is approaching 7 years old and the younger is maybe 18 months. I've decided they need some new plants and such, but after 4 years the previous sand I put in it is barely a quarter inch thick and can't hold down the plants. I thought about plant weights, but wanted it to look somewhat real with plastic plants actually in the sand.
Would it be better to just try and get the rest of the sand out, or just add new sand with the old? I don't think it matters, but who knows.
