i have little rocks in my tank right now and i really want to change it to sand. will sand murky up my water? and how would you do water changes if you want to do a vacuum

depending on the type of sand you use will determine whether or not your water will becoame murky. I use sand blasting sand called black magic and it doesn't make my water cloudy at all when I add it to the tank. Also with vacuuming you don't have to deep vac because stuff can't get through the sand. therefore you just vac the very top. its pretty easy
what kinda filtration do you have because sand can mess up power filters yeah and it depend on what kinda sand it is

I got mine for free from my boss. he has like 4 pallets of the stuff he got for free. This sand is also used for filtration as well so it is safe for tanks. you can get it very cheap from some welding supply stores. its like $15.00 for 80 lbs I think

pools filter sand, I got the 20grade and I tried vacumming with water pressure from faucet I cant even suck the sand. Its really heavy grain.
I have 2 of my tanks switch to pool filter sand already. Also its a breeze vacumming since you just need to vacuum the crap on top.
