My Python/sink or whatever doesn't have enough pressure to do diddly squat! I try to gravel vac with it,pshhhhhhhhh worthless. I have to use the small 6ft gravel vac to well gravel vac each tank then use the python to change the water. I do have like probaly 60 feet of tubing though so that might hinder the pressure. IDK.:screwy:

I have a 350 and 150 in my garage, but water could easily be drained and filled through a nearby window or door as well, for tanks in the house. I have a 65 gallon, wheeled rubbish container. I have a pump and heater inside of it. I fill it, add dechlorinator and let it run for at least eight hours to warm. I siphon waste water out of the tank and just let it run down the driveway. I then pump water out of the rubbish container into the tank to refill it. If I need more than 65 gallons, I refill it with the garden hose and then add hot water from inside the house to bring it up to the correct temp. When not in use, I store the container outside. I have used this system for several years and it has worked well.

Some monster tank owners make a pvc and hose set-up that is alot bigger in diameter. Say 1'' clear vinyl tubing and a few peices of pvc that would hang over the edge of the tank in a U shape. And then start a syphon with your mouth and let it go. 1'' tubing will drain alot of water quick. For gravel vac'ing you would just have to use a normal python.

...or you can make your own monster python. I made mine using this black sump drain hose (1 1/4" ID) from a local hardware store and 30" python tube with a gatorage bottle attached to the end so that I can vacuum a larger area at a time. I added a ball valve to it since I took this pic. It works really well...makes water changes go much faster.

I have a spare Mag5 that i drop in to get started on the 280. During that time i drain and fill the 55 then clean the sand on the big 'un then begin the refill, the longest part of the process...
