Im digging me a pond and wanna know if channa argus is a suitible guest.
Can they survive the winters of sweden as long there is a hole for oxygen in the ice? And hows their behaviour, will they jump for food or lie hidden all the time?:help2:

Hi,

i dont think that they can survive the winters of Sweden, and Snakeheads NEED oxygen from the surface so....no ice.....
Channa Argus Warchapowski comes from the Amur State near Russia they only could:confused: survive the cold temperatures(they tried to keep them in Czechoslovakia outside but it was to cold there) if you would keep the water warm about 10-12G Celsius but you have to dig the pond in place where there would a bit separated from wind/ice etc. So better dont try it and by the way i think you wont get them to.... i tried about a year to get them... And yes they would JUMP for food....

i do believe they would survive the cold water... after all they're a native species 2 China, Russia, Korea and even some parts of the United States... how they survive the winter and in the wild tat i do not know... but they are known 2 surface 4 air... and yes most Snakeheads are jumpers... juz like arowanas...
