Hello,
mybe some People from Russia or the far east are part of this forum, so i might be lucky with some more Information.
When looking for information about channa argus, sometimes the subspecies c. argus warpachowskyi comes up, which seems to be the really harcore cold resistant subspecies, which is also capable of reaching bigger sizes than the argus we know.
Is there some truth to that? This might be the reason why there are tales of argus which reached 1.5meters in lenght, which, considering the quite massive built compared to other sneakhead, could very well mean that channa argus warpachowskyi is the heaviest channa out there.
Greetings
