As mentioned in previous threads I have 3 juvenile channa asiatica (all from the same batch). These are growing out nicely and are surprisingly living together fine...with 7 rosy barbs!

I have seen very minimal aggression towards each other and even less towards the barbs. They have all been together now pushing on 2 months. The biggest SH is about 7 inch and the smallest is 4 inch. I kinda didnt expect it to work out this long and cant see any signs of that changing anytime soon...we shall see!

Anyhow here are some pics

Looking good! Mine were ok together at that size, still just babies! It'll probably be in the spring that you'll likly see them start to turn in eachother.

It's not just size , maturity and time of year & gender ratio will play a roll in when it happens .

If memory serves me mine dwindled down to a pair very quickly the first spring/summer at ~4-5". They remained a peaceful a pair until the following spring hit and my female turned on the male like she did too the others and ripped him apart. Yours are big enough IMO to start pairing off at any time.

I think winters has cut you a break on the violence , I'd bet that around May, likly coinciding with a low pressure system things will suddenly change and they'll turn on eachother.
