channa barca vs. cf. barca

anyone know the easiest way to tell the difference between these two. my friend is looking into getting some barcas and wants to make sure that he gets his moneys worth. only bad thing is they are small at 10cm.

Hi,

correcter named it is Channa stewartii cf. barca !!
And now u know the main differences, when the fish look like young stewartii, its not a Channa barca.

cf. barca ist just a trade name.....

Channa cf. barca is a type or locality form of Channa stewartii!

The real barca is much more expensive,than a cf. barca.

cf barca is under 100 €........barca is over 1000 €......that is the best difference,when you want to buy them....

You will never get a barca for cheap money.....if you will ......mail me!!!

I will take some ,too......

I keep one barca .......and get some more for cheap would be fine!

You say they are only 10cm at thge moment, this would lead me to believe they are not Channa Barca.

so these fella's came into the local lfs.
they are roughly 8inch's..

i want some thoughts on these photos.

what is a reasonable price on a fish like this???

certainly doesn't look like barca to me. maybe channa cf. barca? sorry I don't know a good price on these guys. very nice colors though

definitely cf barca. i'd help you with the price but you and i both know that SH are rare in BC

I wouldn't say that they are rare in bc
I currently have lucius, pleuro, cobra, sp. assam, bankenensis
i've kept over a dozen different types all from the lfs
