the male is getting fat and the female isn't eating.
the male always is looking for food, and the female hiding.

Have you seen them fighting at all?

Sounds like a territory issue to me, I had the same issue with mine. Unfortunatly having a male and female does not guarentee a pair.

yeah sometimes they fight with the male being more dominant, but then the next minute they budds.

but i'v heard even pairs fight...?

well i have four three male and two female and one of the males is getting bullied constantly, it's common. it sucks but hopefully mine will breed so i don't have to worry losing them

If youn have both sexes it's usually the female that is dominant so you might have two of the same sex, or the female is the fatter fish. What decor do you have in the tank?
