Hey guys,

I got 2 channa bleheri about 4 days back and they refuse to eat. They do not even go after anything that i put into the tank..
I have fed them earthworms, shrimps and hikari floating sticks and nothing..

Why would they not be eating? Because they are in a new tank?

TIA :nutkick:

You can try live crickets or zophobas for them. Keep the tank dimmed and with alot of floating plants. Minimum water movement and minimal water changes and they will eat eventually.

Channa can go days without food, so it's not a big issue, when they're new they can take a bit of time to get settled.

Young Channa take less time to settle, adults take more time.

Macrobrachium shrimp or neocaridina shrimp is what they would recognise as food instinctively, do not give market prawn.

And as already mentioned, they like still water, and dim lights to begin with

Hendre Hendre had already intimated that Channa are illegal to be kept in South Africa.

This thread is gonna be closed as we do not allow discussion of illegal activity.
