I'm currently looking at getting a few snakeheads for my newly set up 33 gallon tank which is halfway through the cycling process at the moment.

The two options I have at the moment are from two different companies. details are:

I can get 4 channa bleheri (2.5" - 4") for $80 + $100 shipping which is $180 total for these four fish. (this seller is much further away then #2)

My other option is to purchase either 2 or 3 channa obscura (3"+) from seller #2. These fish are $40 ea. (only 3 left) so for a pair it would be $80 + $65 for shipping or for 3 (which I would most likely get) would be $120 + $65 bringing my total to $185 which is basically the same cost as the 3 bleheri.

So the question comes down to what does everyone recomend for my tank? 4x channa bleheri or 3x channa obscura?

Opinions? also I've done some research but would like to know more about the difference between these two snakeheads so anyone willing to share would be helping!

Thanks!

Get 4 bleheri..

that is deffinatly the route I am considering. they may be a bit more common but I like their look a bit more. As well I just found out the 4 bleheri I could order easily whenever I want however the seller (oliver lucans from below water) has a minimum purchase order of $200 so I would have to find someone to split an order with in order to get the obscura.

Thanks for the opinion! anymore opinions? I have a bit of time to decide before my tank is cycled anyway.

I'm also only now realizing that the obscura live in warm water year round as opposed to the bleheri's normal sub-tropic temperature. The seller is informing me that the obscura are quite capable of living with other fish that are relatively the same size ie. Ctenopoma etc .. due to their tropic climate. This has made me think a great deal more about which species to order.
