feeder tank
I just picked up a gachua, anyone know the basics on these fish? They really aggressive? or can they be housed with other fish?

They are of the more docile of the snakehead spiecies. You can keep them with bichirs, and some cichlids. wich cichlids well that depends on the temperment of each fish. Some cichlids hate gachua others could care less and treat them like a bichi. mid 70s temp. get it off live food if thats what ya been feeding it. get it eating pellets beafhart nightcrawlers verity is the key. they max at 11 inch more comonly they max at 9

I have 5 of them my self. They in a tank with two other dwarf snakeheads of different speices. Pretty chilld, they love blood worms. but i heard there isn't much nutrional value in them. So i vary their diet with freeze dried krill and frozen silversides. Give them loads of hiding places, i would suggest using plants, but if you can't be bothered with live plants just makes some caves or even use fake plants.

here are a couple pics of mine

they're still youngens

:iagree: however i do have a red finned black shark in there with them who is smaller and they dont seem to bother him.... yet....

i have a 2 payara, 2 alligator gar, 1 jardini, and the gachua in the same tank. everything seems fine except my jardini got bit and is missing a little bit of its tail. i'm guessing its the gachua. you guys think this is a one time event or will it keep happening until my jardini is dead? the jardini is acting fine, not in fear or anything.
