I live in Vancouver BC and have been looking for channa for about 2-3 weeks now, i cant find any asides from channa argus from the local fish markets; I have bought 2 of these but they come in very poor condition and euthanasia was the most reasonable option for these fish. I have spent probably 100$ on argus but none of these have been able to recover from their wounds and none of them would eat.

I've decided to try and find subtropical snakeheads such as SP assam, SP redfins, bleheris, and gachuas because ive been pretty impressed with pictures from the internet.

I was just wondering if anyone can suggest a store i can buy these from or someone who lives in Canada that i can buy from. Canada does not have a channa ban unlike the U.S. but since the US is Canada's neighbor i have come to the conclusion that the channa market is influenced to a pretty severe extent.

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated thank you (:

Big al's Richmond but they have a new name now not sure what it is called now. They have emperor snakehead that is mislabelled as cheveron snakehead. Fraser aquarium have some giant snakeheads. North American pet store have some rainbow snakeheads and occelated snakeheads.

BTW you cannot find sp. asam or c. gachua here as no one really export snakeheads here in BC and most of the time it's the giant snakehead or rainbow snakehad that are commonly seen.
