imy 14" channa aurantimaculata has jumped out. ts in a bad way maximim its been out is 2 hours. its eyes have clouded over and it can't balance, not sure if its gonna pull through. any ideas what to do?

not to sure how yours will be but one of my smaller snakeheads got out of our tank one night god knows how long for and put him back,it seemed as if it wasnt going to make it but after a day or so it was fine, its eyes was the same but pulled through ok.
give him time and keep checking him out.

I used to work at this fish store, and this guy brought in a very dry snakehead...I was out of the water for a good 3 - 4 hours....We put him in a quarentien tank, and he seemed to be doing fine...over night, his dry skin started to peel off, and he had a "cover" over his eyes which also peeled off...It shed its nasty dry skin, and was perfectly fine in a week or so!

Snakeheads can survive a ridiculous amount of time out of water I have bought round one that was desiccated beyond belief. Snakeheads want to jump out of your tank and explore their environs. Keep them covered at all times. I have stated this here before under no circumstances put salt in the water (salt kills them like a slug) just fresh water at the right temperature will bring him round.

it must have been the first time in the 10 months ive had him there was nothing weighting down the lid, an it had to jump. sounds like it's gonna be ok. wasn't worried at all when i found him, put when i put it back in the tank i expected it to be better. the eyes are almost white, it can't balance it will probably be able tommorow once its passed all the air its swallowed.

In the wild if the water where the Snakehead lives becomes dried out during a draught, the fish will crawl to a new home, using its capability of breathing oxygen from the air. Snakeheads breathe with both gills and a lung-like accessory breathing organ and, in fact, will drown if they cannot reach the surface to breathe i had a Electric catfish give it a belt and it drowned hows that a fish that drowned  So i think you have a very good chance of saving yours

Im not sure if all snakeheads jumps, but my parachanna obscuras can jump at least 20 cm up.
I have a 50 cm tall tank, and i had it filled up 30 cm, and they managed to jump and hit the lid. (its fully filled now with something heavy on the lids).
