Hello Friends, I just bought 2 wild channa marulius 5 in, can live together in the same aquarium (250-300 liters, for a while) or should you have them separated for a while?

Can they kill each other or are they generally tolerant?

Thanks

If they are the same species, i think it should work. But i would keep an eye on them, if they fight separate them immediately. But otherwise, there's only one way to find out.

Like all channas, they are very intolerant of any other fish, unless they pair, in which case you may be able to keep two.

Marulius are one of those people like to comm, like Pleurophtalmas, but as with all channas, once sexual maturity is reached, it's most likely not going to work.

Bear in mind 300L would probably work for less than a year as these fishes grow between 50cm and 1m in captivity (almost double that in the wild).

It means they are one of the few channas that people like to mix with other fishes. It does not always work, but they are those that work the most. :)
