Channa melanoptera???

found these listed as channa.melanoptera:






now i was in wildwoods sat and they had some sp. platiunm... they looked identical to the melanoptera above.... thought col or jelly may be interested...

hi mate , think keith must of not changed the signs on the tanks , the sp.platinum look very diferant . i think steve has one if iam not mistaking. the ones they have in that look like the ones in the picture has been i.d. by ralf britz of the brittish museam as channa maruloids , which is what i suspect the ones in the pics are that you have posted melanoptera lack the flowers on the side that the bottom pic has and also lack the spot on the tail that is just visable on the upper picture.

i think keith only had one sp. platinum so that has probably sold (although it was £150) he is probably just used the tank that it was in.

Yes is it..... This is my Melanoptera's pict.
Some collectors call this fish "Blue Maruliodes" or "Maruliodes Blue Variant".

And...this is my Maruliodes, you can find the different in colour....
Maru is yellow or Orange & Mela is Black + Purple + some yellow...
