channa micropeltes coloring?

iv noticed that some are very black ontop with little pattern and some have amazing white and black pattern to them. i kno there seems to be color veriants but how coem some have very little color. seems like all the tanks far east has ones with great color and out west there all bland. whats the deal with that is it water chemestrey? or is it soemthing that the wild ones have and then the f1 or however far down the line get blander looking. anyone els notice this?

pattern and color changes with age/size/mood but you are correct some are blk and white and others are the blue hue. like the blk and white ones a lot.

Yeah there seems to be a variety of colours for these. My one is a dark green on top, and his colours change with mood/lighting as mad ness said above.
