I had recently planned on ordering 4x channa bleheri for my 33 gallon tank but found I could get a better deal from another closer dealer on some channa obscura. I'm told they stay relatively small as well so would be fine for my 33 gallon and also told they are tropic temperatured snakeheads (african snakeheads) so they are able to have tank mates as long as they can tolerate them. i'm thinking of ordering a pair of these along with 3x Ctenopoma occelatum (black bushfish) as the dealer has told me these are suitable tank mates and look great together. a preference of his. I'm wondering will these 5 fish be fine in my 33 gallon tank? (I'm running a fluval 304 canister filter). whats everyones opinion? should I go with this set up? or should I just go with 3x of the obscura? or should I completely re think and stick with the 4x channa bleher?
