My Channa-ornatipinnis have been together constantly now for around 4weeks to a month as in side by side......
I came home today to find them swirling around head to tail style for a fair time of around 15-20mins, wilst doing this one would arch its back...
But after 15mins they suddenly noticed me and rushed up to the feeding corner, so i thought its best to feed them.....I managed to get a small length video so iam trying to upload it,,,,,,Just thought id say whats happening incase someone has idea's from there snakeheads they've managed to breed.......thanks in advance

def sounds like spawning behavior , useally they will show this behavior for several weeks before actually spawning .

you have done very well to get even this far ,so fingers crossed , i really hope they go through with it ,it will be the first recorded spawning if they manage .

ill keep an eye out for the video ,

cheers col

yes i cannot load the video so have to wait til i can do it at my sister's....
I was soooo annoyed earlier because my battery's were dead and the two s/h were head to tail again and very tightly knit, for about 10minutes then they bunched up soo tight, head to tail and they look liked one ball and dropped slowly towards the floor, as they were doing this the were quivering, then they seperated, were hanging next to each other for about two hours.....now there both on the left hand side of the tank just floating and swimming around each other,...will keep this updated..Obviously i will be very very happy if they actullay manage a spawning but just hope i could raise the fry in the same tank, as i do not have space for another tank
