Here are my two baby channas, finally set in their own 55g tank. I am guessing I will need a bigger tank in a matter of a few months...

They are both about 3", and I just dumped a dozen guppies in there and they ate them all...took less than 5 minutes :)

Oh and yes, I can see their teeths...little needle points stickin out :woot:

Well I read 10", 14", 16" so who knows...I guess with your experience we can say 10" for sure. But in many websites I saw 40cm, so roughly 15-16". I would not quality 16" as dwarf, personally ;)

I'm in Montreal, Canada, so with the customs you better forget getting one from here :) LFS said he was surprised to see them listed, they also had rainbow channas for sale there.

Don't know if it's a pair, I don't know how to tell them apart, and I guess at that size it's not possible anyways.

Just read something and wanted to share:

When the prey is close enough to the mouth the snakehead will suddenly strike and release all the air in the suprabranchial organ. This will enable the fish to literally suck its prey in. not only fish are taken as prey but also crabs and crustaceans, shrimps, insects and tadpoles.

I was wondering why they produced bubbles when they ate the guppies...now I know. And you should see them eat...they don't just eat the fish, they strike at them...so fast. Boy I love those fishes :D

are they common in canada
