dear mfk members,
i have a kind of problem i have a 4/5 inch channa pulchra.
and i have 2polypterus senagalus(nearly 10iches).
my channa pulchra is locked in a small tank built in the aquarium, but on one kind of wird way he gets out al the time.(most of the time with some help of my tire trak eel).
so he is in mine 80gallon tank with the bichirs.
the bichirs are not hunting on the channa, but i am interesting of it stays this way.
is there a big chance the wil eat my pulchra?

no in the future the pulchra will be able to eat the bichirs.
The Senegals wont try to eat him!

i hope so,the bichirs are swimming towards him now, time after time, does this means trouble?

pulchra is a dwarf species, which from what i read gets to about 10"-12". of course since its newly described, the max size may not be 100% confirmed. still, unless it can swallow fish its own size, i think the senegals are safe.

it could mean trouble, or they could just be curious and investigating. hopefully its the latter, and that it'll pass.

shoud i place the pulchra back in his small tank?
i think there hunting on my pulchra, sometimes they just try to bite him,and the channa bites back and the bichirs flee time after time.

but would the plys eat the channa?
