I was in shanghai for the formula one gp this weekend and Came across this shop filled with lakhs of argus in the tanks and some of them outside for display....
note the leftovers of the slaughter on the left side of the pic...

You have to remember that all the fish we keep are food in some parts of the world.

same reason you would eat any fish native and in large numbers

yep...and very cheap but most of them are suffering frm malnutrition and lots of injuries due to transport
