i visited my LFS and seen these guys for sale. just have few questions. These would be my first snake heads i have kept.

i have a 4ft tank would thank be fine for a pair?

Also are you able to sex snake heads so that i can get a male and female as they are not cheap?

Sexing is possible if they are mature enough but can be tricky when they are young., and even if you sex them snakeheads don't pair that easily. To pair them you'll need to start with 5-6 and hope that a pair forms from the group and keep in mind they are highly aggressive and territorial so when a pair dies form the others will likely be killed.

A 4' tank should be enough space if set up properly however IF they pair and you manage to breed then a divider might be needed as the parents are very protective of fry and might turn on each other after breeding .
