hello, i am buying a channa pulchra (burmese snakehead) tomorrow but was just wondering what is the most impressive and overall best channa variety that grows to around 12-14 inches, what are your opinions, all answers will be appreciated:grinno:

Thanks, Danny

thanks for your reply nelly, i know the size of the ornatipinnis as it is similar to the pulchra, but what size does the channa pleuro grow to?

how about channa aurantimaculata ? that is the best choice in my opinion .

I think that channa barco grow bigger than 25inch ?
From the other side pulchra and ornatipinis never reaches a size of 11 inch ...

yes sorry just thought it was a stunning species and had to show it, yes it grows somewhere in region of 3.5ft

11 inches is fine with me, i have 3 snakeheads now:-

Channa Pulchra (Burmese Snakehead)
Blue Blerehi
and a new and rare species called lipor snakehead which size is unknown and has no apparent scientific name yet

any comments on that?

theyre only just settling into the tank know, when they have completely calmed down i will take some pics,

i was just thinking because this is an american site some of our yanky friends might have come across Lipor, no offence to the southern chaps

haha you thought wrong, they are not allowed to keep channa in the usa...you will prob find the geman or polish brothers have come across them
