well I have a 90 with a pair of oscars in it, and I was looking for a bottom feeder to suck up all the scraps that these messy oscars leave behind, without becomeing oscar food or outgrowing the tank. I was looking at a featherfin syno but I have had people tell me that I will never see it if there is a HOB lip, DW, rock crevice or anywhere els to hide, so I was thinking may B a channel cat but I have cought some honkin channels before. I want to get a big boy 300+gallon tank but I cant right now, so is there like a pigmy channel or somthing? or is a syno about as pro as it gets for a 90?

4 line pim would be good (Pimodellus blochii) look it up. They get about 12" long.

I actually see my featherfin all the time, and he was fine with my O's (though could get a little ruffed up when the O's fought eachother)
If you can find a larger striped raphael it wouldn't outgrow your tank, and it's an armored cat so the O's wouldn't eat it. If it starts off a lot smaller than the O's though, it might get eatten. However, they are awesome cleaners. (featherfins are too)
4line could work too... I had a 8" one with my big O's for quiet some time with no issues other than it bullied the O's.
Channel cat is a horrible idea though... You would need at least a 300g round pond (not tank) for it in about a year.
The closest thing your going to get to a pygmy Channel is a bullhead (which could work) certain strains of them stay smaller than other, but now I don't remember which is which... I'm sure someone else around here does though, or it's easy to look up

Try snails. Any cat you put in the tank will still need to be fed a varied diet to stay healthy and cannot live off the scraps of your O alone. 4 lined pims and bull heads are awesome (I have both) but they are not what you would consider a clean up crew. Or try finding yourself and small carnivorous pleco, like a king tiger. They still will need to be fed a quality diet but will help with left over pellets and such. I have one in with my O and it does a great job of eating the left overs.

Pleco's generally make more of a mess than other fish...
A syno would be better at picking up scraps than the bullhead or 4 line, but I would already assume you know you would have to feed a bit extra for the cat.

bullhead yea

i agree with bullhead, spotted bullhead look the best in my opinion.

Beautiful fish indeed! :) Shame we don't see more of them in the trade, they would be so much better than channel cats...

The bullhead is pretty good looking, and 4 line pim was pretty cool also, but I did end up going for the syn, and he dose hide a lot in the DW but it makes random apperances, I still might go for the bullhead once I upgrade my tank tho. Here is a pic I took of the new Syn, not the best but I took it in complete dark.
