Channel Catfish food

Hi there I have a 5" channel catfish and I was just wondering what should I feed the little guy?
 
live feeders, beefheart, bloodworms, sinking wafers, i've even used krill and they seem to love it. channel cats like 99% of cats will pretty much eat anything even cichlid pellets
 
Feed it variety my cats get pellets three different kinds, three different kinds for frozen fish fillets, and whole or half frozen blue gills, sunfish and any other leftovers from the game fish I eat, frozen and then de frosted to kill and diseases or parasites.

fyi: beefheart will offer better growth rates because of it's higher protien levels, but maintaining a few different foods will help give it the best nutrition it can get
 
Thanks for the advice. I have had him for 2 weeks now but never seen him eat. Guessing his nocturnal eater?
 
Mine always hide alot.ive had mine 2 years and never seen em eat! Theyre mostly scavengers...

yes. they're nocturnal feeders for the most part. they will eat during daytime hours, but you'll rarely see them eat unless they're really hungry.
