I have just moved a channel catfish from a 55gal tank, its only 5 inches right now, for the reason its been nipping its fellow tankmates. I had just set it in a 75gal grow out tank that contains two marble achara, 2 oscars, a giraffe and a ornate catfish. There all about 5 inches as well, and once i set the channel in its already been trying to nip the fins of all the other fish in the tank. I read there generally peaceful so did i just get a bad egg and remove it or should i wait a couple of days, any advice would be helpful. Thanks for your time.

I'm rather surprised. It has been reported to happen with channels but rarely. You either got a "bad egg" or something is making it a nipper. Perhaps placing more furniture so fish establish their boundaries could help. So would large plants, can be fake, or rocks to break line of sight. Or use a tank divider.
