The Land where Fish Rule!
To cut straight to the point... I came back from a weekend trip to see one of my big channels all cut up. I think he must have gotten spooked and thrashed in to his PVC tunnel. Anyway he has mildly torn fins, a few scratches, and the big problem... A missing piece of skin not quite the size of a dime by his gill. As this happen a few days ago and just found it when I got back just now... He seems to have a fungal infection on the open wounds. He seems very stressed. I all ready added melafix and pimafix to the water and have a few air stones hooked up to the tank. From what I can tell it is strictly fungal not parasitic. Anyone have any suggestions here? All help is appreciated! Also remember we are dealing with a scaless fish here.

sorry to hear ......but unfortunately do not have any further help to offer

channel catfish are pretty tough. we catch them in tournaments and they can rough each other up in the livewell pretty bad, add a hook to face and being out of water and weighed for a few minutes and they still swim away strong. your doing good so far with mela and pima. keep up the water changes and im sure hell be fine.

clean water, oxygenation and less stress brought on the fish, is good

pima/mela- follow the directions to the T! many don't know how to dose right and overdo it

Really doing what I would have done anyways myself. Just keep the water clean/pristine as possible and try not to put the fish under stress such as having a crowded room. quiet as possible and keep doing what you've been doing and hope for the best.

Well despite all my efforts he died earlier today. Thank you all for your help.
