Channel Catfish Size

Ive seen several people keeping channel catfish. What size have they topped off at in captivity? I read on planet catfish they only get too about 27 inches. I was thinking they were closer to 48 inches full grown.

Mine was around 30" when he died. So I would say planet catfish is wrong. Sense the odds that my fish reached its maximum size is slim

Thanks, what size tank or pond did you have him in.

How long do you think one could live in a 4x4x2 pond, we have cold winters and the pond is in my garage. I was hoping to get at least a few years.

I had two that got to be 18 and 20 inches in 14 months. I got them when they were 3 inches.

Thanks, I wouldnt but a fish past 24-27 inches in their for long term so hopefully I can get a few years out of it. Plus I get pretty cold winters so growth will slow down.
