Channel Catfish?

What is a good diet for a channel cat? I have been feeding him shrimp, but that is it. Should I try other foods or is shrimp a good healthy food? Thanks!

I feed mine flakes, shrimp, pellets, tubifex, and earthworms.

you can also do fishes and fillets they eat just about anything you could even do the occational liver

Yeah definitely mix it up a bit, variety is always better for the fish in the long run. Pellets are made up of many different types of things so they would be good to mix in.

Mine in the pond gets Koi pellets, earthworms, and a shrimp or two. He has grown from 2-3" of skin and bones last fall, to abot 6" and fat as a carrot now.

my channel use to like red grapes too. they will eat anything, just feed quality pellets and it will do it good. the more you feed all the different stuff, the faster the water quality goes. just use pellets primarily and mix in a few things here and there they grow very fast.
