just caught a 2.5 foot channel cat from a pond and now it's in my predator pond, it was in a way too small cooler for 2 hours and swims around in the pond and appears happy, how long until he starts eating?

Hard to say but I wouldnt wory about it. Their real tough at that size and will start to eat soon.
It will start eating in 16 hours 22 minutes and 5 seconds....lol how are we supposed to know when it will eat? Some fish will eat within a few minutes, others may take months to accept something. There are too many variables in play....
When i kept some, it took them a week to accept food. I had to turn off all the lights and leave the room.
My little cat began eating within hours of settling in. He probably could have eaten sooner, but I let him settle in for awhile.
Don't feed your fish cheese....it might make great bait but its a horrible food for a pet fish. I'm sure it will also do wonders for your water quality....
