GOD's country Arcadia Fl. Chasing mollies
Noticed the water dropped and left a small pool around a bridge pilon. Bunch of little catfish trapped. I caught 6 babies (between 3/4 and 2 inches) for my 30 gallon. Someone told me they wont outgrow the tank, I doubt that.
Are they channel cats? Anyone kept any? T

Well, yes and no.
If you don’t do water changes(just topping off) or do very small water changes fish can/will get very stunted and grow very slow if not stop growing altogether. Then it is just a matter of time before they get sick and ultimately die much earlier then they should.

I can’t indefinitely cats, so I’m no help there.

They are just open source pics, as close as I could find.

Is it true some fish wont outgrow a tank? Caught 6 baby plecos 4 months ago and I'm about ready to return them to the river.

That is a myth but some won't grow as large as in the wild. Aquarium size and water conditions are 2 factors.

Well those 2 took care of the stunting issue but it seems like neither of them noticed a bigger issue at hand.
Do not put those plecos back in the river. They could introduce diseases to the wild or bacteria which could wipe out the native fish. A bit on the low end of possibilities but it's still possible.

I believe some company is now making food out of invasive plecos? Pleco jerky I think.
