i am looking to add 3 of these to my 5ft 2 x 2 tank, but not sure if they will go with my 4 brasiliensis.

can any one advise me?

if you meant something other than a lepisotid, wrong forum buddy, try general aquatics

characins are in fact not gar at all. your thread will probably me moved to a more appropriate forum, but to answer youre question in short...i think they would be ok with the tankmates listed, as long as they are not too aggressive.

I had a Striped Pike, they don't survive aggressive fish, my9" Brasiliens left it alone, so it would be ok!

The Hujetas, at least mine anyway, can be a little skittish. They can also be territorial with fish like themselves unless you match their size or have something larger.

My advice is to try it out. As long as they have enough room to themselves in the tank they should be okay.

yup....my oscars(when I had them) killed 5 of these guys. Cool to watch em eat guppies cause they rip around catching em...not like a real gar though.

Yeah most LFS label them as that. I've even seen them labeled as Barracuda.
