Characins for Sev/Uaru tank?

I just got a 150 and this is my current stock I have for it (once a few have grown up a little more):
green sev
Uaru
2 festivums
fei-feng

I'm considering another sev, another Uaru, and maybe a pair or two of some sort of eartheaters.

What other characins could people recommend to go with this stock? I'd like to avoid silver dollars. Are there any larger tetras others have successfully kept with sevs or Uaru?

Good-sized Congo tetras would work, or Colombian tetras if you're trying to stick with an SA theme. None of those cichlids are really predatory so they should be fine if you house them with the tetras from a young age. My geos were also fine with hatchet fish.

in a large tank, you could try leporinus (maybe a pair) . . . my only caveats are that they grow kinda large, 8" or so; can be a bit nasty as they get older, and they can be hard on plants . . . but they are tough fish that will hold up well with cichlids

If you dont want metynnis/mlyeus etc... id go with some congo tetra's although they wouldnt be going with the theme as they are an african species. Maybe a few gaint danios or some of the devario species but again strays away from the theme. Rainbows are another nice one.

Maybe a nice group of bleeding hearts? or one of the smaller more peaceful distrofasiastus species? or some labeo? just a few suggestions id reccomend more but im tired, i think my beds calling me lol

I was really thinking about bleeding hearts as well as maybe some black skirt tetras.
I was VERY tempted to get some black-belt silver dollars yesterday at ACA, except that they were $10 for maybe 3/4" fish
