In the fish room
So I was at work today and when I went on my lunch break I looked at my phone and I had 7 missed calls from my wife. She sent me a text to that said "EMERGENCY, ANSWER!" When I called her she said that my 150 broke and water water shooter out of the side of the tank, my heart sank, I ran up to the office and told my boss what happened. He knew that I keep many different fish and he knows how much money I have in my tanks, so he let me leave. I drove home so fast got up to 112 mph on the highway:grinno:. When I got home the tank was more than half way empty, my wife had been putting 30 gallon tubs under the side it was leaking on to catch the water so most of it got in there instead of the floor. My buddy came right over to help me I called him on my way home. I had an extra 125 in the basement empty so we brought it upstairs to put the fish in. Well as we lifted the tank the bottom cracks all the way across the tank:(, It turns out that when my inlaws came in to town they set a rock in the tank that was on the floor, Thank alot!!!!! I did have an extra 60 gallon and a 80 gallon empty as well, so we decided to just split the fish up between the two tanks. Just to end my story all went well, so far. just a huge pain, and now I need a new tank. I'm going 180 this time.
In the 150 was,
-8 silver dallors, 4"
-1 VATF, 8"
-2 African Pike, 8"
-1 Flordia GAr, 10.5"
-3 Tat's, 9"
-1 Raph, 8"
-2 Scombs, 5"
-2 Discus, 4"
-1 L330, 10"
-1 calico BN, 4"
-1 cali sturgon, 6", was in there temperaly.

How did setting a rock in the tank cause it to pop a seam? Was it a very large rock or boulder? Or did dropping it in break a panel?

Anyway that sucks. Atleast everyone made it allright.

I have had it happen to me with smaller tanks like a 60 corner tank. And that made me decide to never have a big tank up stairs. So all my bigger tanks are in the basement with concrete floors and a floor drain.

Wow, what a story!!!!

Glad to see that everything worked out...

I'm also curious how a rock broke the bottom of your spare...

they must of dropped the rock in the 125. It already must have had a crack or something from it and i did not notice it when I took it out. But when we put pressure on the tank by lifting it it just cracked like crazy. it was a pretty small rock too, but thats the only thing in the tank when I went to get it from the basement. So that must have been what caused the cracking.
