I have 3 Charax gibbosus and one of them has a bloated belly and its been like that for nearly 3 or 4 months. about 1 month in, SOMETHING in the tank layed these clear white "eggs" all over the front of the glass about 1 to 5" below the top of the glass... they all died.

i only had 1 crayfish, and 4 corydoras in there other than the headstanders, so idk what those eggs were...

its been months since i ever seen "eggs" again and that charax still has a bloated belly. i feed it hikari gold koi and cichlid pellets + wardley cichlid pellets and its eaten tetra flakes, and guppies in the past.

what the hell could be causing this bloat? (i hope its not bloat itself)... but how do i fix it? i haven't been on these forums in years and completely forgot the nitpicks of fishkeeping.

the corys didn't even look pregnant and they were even trying to eat the eggs. they were also pretty high up on the glass. thats mind bending, but i have no evidence against it so it could very well be...

but about my characin's bloated belly, i'm still tryna find a fix. :(
