Beautiful fish, I’ll be honest I saw your post a while back and you inspired me, I acquired a tank of similar size and am currently growing out a giant of my own, love these fish

That is a nice looking GG. However, taking fish out of the tank is a stressful process for them. Handling them with rags or towels is also bad practice as you are interfering with their protective slime coat, potentially leaving them open to disease. It is safer, and kinder to the fish to either eye ball it's measurement or hold a tape measure up to the side of your tank which will also give you a good idea.

Here is my butch beast. About 17".

This is the Barbonymus Altus variety of tinfoil barb (red tailed tinfoil barb). It's six years old and about 11".

awesome! i love tinfoils and have kept many large ones over the years, im currently without them but I am looking to add a few to my 90g after our lockdown ends. Beautiful barb!
