Just an observation: The other day I noticed by 2 largest (approx 8") pbass observing and chasing a fly that was buzzing around in front of their tank. The interesting thing was that the fly was a good 12+" out away from the front glass and they could still see it!

The funny part was that as the fly buzzed around in circles and went back and forth, the pbass' heads also go around in circles and back and forth like a cat following a laser pointer! As they did this they also kept snapping at it to catch it.

I was quite amused.

Mine try to chase water dripping off of my hand that drips that far away from the tank... They really are preds.

My monos have made huge messes trying to catch flies and moths. It's absolutely hilarious to watch. My son also has some nerf guns and they go nuts over the little ornage nerf darts whenever they get shot in front of the tank.

My mono was even banging his head into the side window while chasing a ball my son and me were throwing to each other in front of the tank. We had to quit and play somewhere else.:screwy:

ahaha

my little devil did that the other day and the fly landed in front of the tank and he kept trying to bite and eat it
:D

yeah my 3 can see a good ways out the tank. I come in with a bag and they get crazy happy even if its not food.

only fish I've seen do that.

We came to the conclusion that this was the demise of our beloved Moe :( death by flyong for a fly while we were shopping... Well that is one of the theories..

i lost a cichla jumpin out due to a fly :( i still love to watch my tems chase flys! they go mental over laser lights to!

My pbass do that too. The first time was with a moth flying in front of the tank they were darting back and forth. So funny to watch.
