I moved to Bangkok in the last couple of years, I found this market as I still am astounded with the amount of fish there are here. So far, I have found every single specie of fish I have looked for, and many that I haven't looked for. I thought Chatuchak was missing out on gars but I found the ones I was looking for also here in the last month. I tried to find a Platinum Alligator Gar but they didn't have any today, but I believe I have found two Shortnose Gars. There are 100 stalls containing fish from simple goldfish, to exotic plecos, and even the most expensive arowanas. See for me, I don't go to my neighborhood fish store, I go to my neighborhood fish market. These are the more "common exotics" as the fellow user Thaigars said which I agree with, although the whole market has "common exotics" I will try to find some rare fish to post pictures of on this thread in the following month.

The pictures below are only some of the several species and store I walk past/visit:

Amazing fish. Thanks for sharing. I wish I could visit Bangkok fish market someday

JEEZ....what a kok on that flowerhorn!

JEEZ....what a kok on that flowerhorn!

That isn't the even the biggest one. There are stalls with 50 flowerhorns in separate tanks, some are as big as my head. I took some quick photos this time but next time I'll take more, and I'll find even more interesting fish. I found a platinum silver arowana but I wasn't allowed to take a picture of it, not all of the fish are probably legal.

I wish we had a fish market. Most of our fish we get around here are tiny little fry. The only time I found
something cool was driving 6 hours east of here .

Great post CN. Seeing those colorfully trimmed tanks bring me back. I travel to thailand every year and this is always my first weekend stop. JJ=fish keepers paradise. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to updates.

Thanks everyone! Hearing your comments makes taking the pictures worth while. If anyone would like me to find a certain fish and the price of it I'm happy to do so also. The fish here are generally 1/6 the price of the U.S., however some are even cheaper but some are also more expensive. For example, I purchased my Pearl Stingray at $130.
