chicken are not a good diet for piranha.

Chicken and mammal proteins are very difficult for fish to digest. Continued feeding of these materials can lead to fatty liver disease.

thanks for all the advice i have kept aquariums before but never RBP this site is extremely helpful!

That's what we're here for!

one last one what kind of veggies are suitable for their diet, also i have two RBP they are maybe 3 inches im weaning them off of feeders, but it seems the only time i can entice them to eat no living food live food must be present.

just stop feeding them live, it is seriously that easy... natts at that size will eat just about anything when they are hungry, but they will eat live just about anytime they see it. if they aren't eating shrimp or whatever you are feeding them, just keep trying until they realize that it's food, it may take a day or so, but once they put it all together, they'll start attacking it right when it goes into the water. just make sure you do not cave in and give them feeders, you need to completely eliminate them from their diet if you want the best chance at being successful in introducing other foods. as far as veggies go, i know alot of people feed their piranhas peas and little pieces of carrot.

I have fed my RBP chicken as the main part of his/her diet for the last 2 years -- have had great growth and colors, no deseases or problems to speak of... never hear of it being bad...

a piranha's diet should consist mainly of fish, pellets are also good, because they have been formulated to contain many of the same things found in fish. chicken, beef, pork, etc. can be fed, but only sparingly.
