Just wondering if anyone ever used one of these tanks for a fish tank maybe cut off the top clean that bad boy out really really really good and maybe dig a whole for it and use it as a real cheap tank or even maybe in a garage etc ?

I've seen numerous ones go for 35-45 bucks for a 300 gallon tank just wanted to know if anyone has tried and maybe give someone a project ? would be awesome if it worked lol and i would probably try it out if i had a house.

I've seen those never seen any that were 300g. I seen smaller ones. Those would be good to hold water but no side viewing.

ive seen ones range from about 200-300 gallons and yeah but for something like a temp tank or maybe breeding tanks or something lol idk haha

They are IBC`s, used for transproting water/chemicals, well any bulk liquids.

I can see why you cant use one, or more, i have seen them used as filters so would be fine for a tank, BUT i would only use a second hand ones that has only carried water, you never know whnats been in them.

Very true and most i have seen have had diesel in them as well as other chemicals here and there but i have seen some that only were used for water. Would be kind of cool to see a setup with them though, maybe when i get a house and a garage i will get 4-5 of em lol.

I have only seen those tanks used to hold very dangerous chemicals....

Over here in the UK they are used by car valeters a lot who only use fresh water.
I was going to use one for a filter but it wont fit in the space i have, be good aswell as they have the large gate valve/tap to flush the bottom out from crap build up.

I've thought of using one of those for a tank. But as it's been mentioned not good for viewing. And What was in it before? I've seen everything from fuel oil to concentrated juice carried in them. I used to work for a shampoo manufactrurer and we'd recieve some of our concentrated surfactants (Basiclly the soap part of shampoo). And hydrochloric acid and caustic soda we'd use in our water purification system. Surfactants are very difficult to rinse out. The other 2 would give you extermly low or high pH. The sizes we recieved ranged from 250 to 500 gallons.
