Looking for some Ideas on attractive cheap decor for my aquarium. I love live plants, but my red bellied pacu gobbles them up. I had pieces of slate, now removed, because my pacu kept injuring himself on them when he freaked out. I have a few fake plants, but I really dislike the look of them.

How about driftwood? Pacus should have a hard time eating that. And as far as plants go, try mosses. Moss Balls, Java Moss... things that wont be bothered even if messed with.
dont worry about decor as much as the 300+ gallon tank you're gonna need for that guy as he grows

And yes, I'm aware of my monster needing a new tank in the future. A plywood 500 gal looks like a cool project, then my 120 can become the sump.
