Cheap Bio Media Locally

Hey guys, almost done with my sump, just waiting for the pump to get here on friday.

The sump is a 10G and will be filtering a 46G bowfront along with an AC110.

The bio media will be submerged so i think bioballs are out of the question unless i buy tons and stack them up above the water line. I was thinking of getting scrubbies but where can i buy them locally?

Any other bio media that is cheap and you can buy locally at walmart/target/HD etc?

I think i am going to go raid a dollar store by my house and see if they have scrubbies

yeah I was gonna say if your looking locally try the dollar store, the one by me has a 3 pack for a buck...so you figure about 10 bucks about should be ok for your design...GL

If you have a 'Do It Best' store locally you can order a BUNCH of scrubbies for $12...Each $1 bag has 8 in them... They ship to the store so no shipping charges, and you get 96 scrubbies (~3" dia)

Sump will look like this when finished.

That looks like it's going to be loud. like its going to be raining wherever you have the tank constantly.

if you want submerged media maybe do it like this so there is no splashing. of course make sure that when the power is off the sump doesn't overflow
