Cheap black ray?

I know black rays aren't cheap. I'm not that much of an idiot. But, I still want to know this. What is the cheapest black ray and where is the cheapest I could buy one? If I have the tank space eventually I think the time to earn the extra money will be worth it in the long run.

normal leopoldi. however henlei may cheaper but not recommended leopoldi nicer.

Henlei tend to have a "less black" disk and the white spots aren't as bright as some leos. But, hens are very nice rays and some rival or are much nicer than leos IMO. Keep your eyes out for king patterns or dark hens with nice spotting. Kings usually go for much more $.

Henlei is the cheapest of the black rays and there is only one source for wild caught and two for captive bred.

Prices have dropped a bit in the UK a Leo will cost £300-450 a henlei £300

That's about it I can't see them going any lower

You know what? Screw my pessimism. I'll breed motoros for a while, sell the pups for about 100, sell about 12 pups and I'm golden. Then I'll get my Leo.

Even if they breed immediately, that $100 isn't all profit - rays eat *a lot* and water plus power bills have to be paid. I doubt there's much if any profit to be had keeping Motoro.
